You can use telnet to send email.This is useful to check, where the trouble comes in sending email.

AUTH LOGIN
Now provide the email user and password. This is accepted in encrypted. You can encrypt username and password using the command,

echo '[email protected]' | openssl base64 && echo 'youremailpassword' | openssl base64
the O/P will be of format,
xxxxxxxxx== This will be encrypted useername.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx== This is encryptd password.
Copy username excluding "==" and provide under the line "AUTH LOGIN"
Then provide ,
MAIL FROM: [email protected]
RCPT TO: [email protected]
Now, you can enter the data,
DATA
Begin writing your email body by filling in the FROM field:
FROM: [email protected]
TO: [email protected]
Enter a subject for your message:
Subject: Hi, this is test from admin.
When finished writing, put a "." and press enter.
Done
